Home to one of my favourite places in the borough; Hackney City Farm. Set in Haggerston Park, this is one of the few places in the city you will get to meet and great our four legged friends that used to be the main residents of the borough. Haggerston Park itself also boasts a seasonal athletics track, basketball court, bmx cycle track, a pond and the usual children’s playgrounds that come with parks.
Other features area is Regents Canal, a feat of modern day engineering from its man made origins. Of late, there have been canal side developments which lift the quality of housing in the area and have brought the slightly more affluent in. This and its proximity to Hoxton and Shoreditch make it quite a popular place to live for Students and creative types.
A famous resident, who lived just off Queensbridge Road, is Tony Blair, the former prime minister of the United Kingdom. It was here that he lived in his early days of politics with his wife Cherie.
All in all, Haggerston is quite a peaceful place to live with a lot of greenery around and a relaxed feel to life.
